Download Keepwell
Free for 14 days, with everything in Home. There's no account or card to enter.
Keepwell for Windows
If Windows says "Windows protected your PC": click More info, then Run anyway. Windows shows this for new programs that few people have downloaded yet.
Install it in three steps
- Run the setup.
Accept the license terms. Windows asks for permission to install it for everyone who uses the PC.
- Choose "Try it free for 14 days".
The app offers the free trial the first time it starts. If you've already bought a license, choose "I bought a license" and enter the key from your purchase email.
- Allow full access, and choose your folders.
Full access lets the app read every health detail. Then, on the File protection page, pick the folders to keep a copy of and the drive the copy goes to.
What it needs
| Windows | Windows 10 (May 2019 Update or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit |
|---|---|
| .NET | .NET Framework 4.8, which comes with Windows 10 and 11 |
| Space | Under 10 MB for the app, plus room on another drive for the copy of your files |
| Internet | To start the trial and to activate. After that, a short license check once a week; the app keeps working for 30 days without a connection. |
| Rights | Administrator rights to install it, and for full access |
Updates
The app checks once a day whether a new version is out. When one is, click Update now: it downloads, checks that the file is exactly the one we published, and installs in about a minute. Your settings and history stay as they are.
For IT: silent install
Keepwell-Setup.exe /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART
Then activate each computer with a Business key. See deploying Business.
Uninstall
Open Settings > Apps, find Keepwell and choose Uninstall. It asks whether to keep your settings and history, for example to install it again later. The copies of your files are never removed.
